SENIOR BUYER/PLANNER

Reviews requirements for materials, quotes and places purchase orders for these materials.  Interfaces with teams regarding materials availability and requirements.  Interfaces with Contract manufacturers regarding deliveries, pricing, and quality issues.  Serves as a lead and mentor to others in department for buying and planning purposes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares request for quotations and analyzes utilizing comparison and quote analysis techniques.  Negotiates contract agreements for direct material components.  Insures materials are available to meet projected orders, while complying with prescribed inventory levels.  Places orders with suppliers and expedites where required, including both direct and indirect materials and services.  Participates in development of commodity strategies.  Responsible for identifying and achieving material cost reductions.  Responsible for supplier selection, evaluation and development based on business strategies.  Maintains integrity of data pertinent to material planning.  Interfaces regularly with Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering concerning new orders, new products, production planning/scheduling.  This position generally deals with materials of a more complex/costly level and includes planning and purchasing of circuit board assemblies, PCBs and quality/design issues.  Adheres to ISO procedures and looks for opportunities for continual improvement.

  • Reviews material and capacity requirements for customer orders and schedules accordingly.  Integrates scheduling into manufacturing areas.  Prepares and maintains material plans for new product introductions and phase-out.  Responsible for creating and maintaining data base for configuration of models within ERP system.  Plans for and coordinates engineering change orders, creates and maintains bills of materials and routings.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • ERP experience 5+ years
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent PC skills to include experience in Excel and Access
  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledgeable in mechanical and electrical components
  • Experience with procuring for circuit board assemblies

Education & Experience:

  • BS Degree or equivalent experience        
  • Experienced in negotiation consignment and blanket orders
  • Experienced in purchasing using Contract Manufacturing in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • CPIM certification

 
 

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE - GRADE 1

The mission of the Customer Service Department is to pursue the goal of 100% customer satisfaction and, thereby, promote repeat business.  The Customer Service Representative- Grade 1 is an entry level member of the Customer Service Department, and a key component in the pursuit of this goal.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers via phone, fax and e-mail concerning customer purchase orders.
  • Accept incoming customer calls that request quotes or product information and respond accordingly.
  • Enter orders into manufacturing database.
  • Prepare sales order folder and process according to SOP
  • Process credit card payments and prepare Commercial Invoices.
  • Issue return authorization numbers for non-working PSI products.
  • Process repair orders.
  • Run daily bookings report and daily units report.
  • Negotiate order scheduling/shipments with internal Master Scheduler, and Production Team.
  • Provide timely feedback to the company, via Proquis and meetings, regarding product failures, late deliveries and customer complaints.
  • Prepare written correspondence, perform filing, and other administrative duties
  • Perform all duties as may be assigned by Customer Service Manager.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent   
  • Prior customer service or call center experience a plus
  • Computer literacy (Word, Windows, Excel, E-mail, Internet, and Database Software).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong basic math and calculation skills.
  • Proper phone etiquette.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all electrical aspects of the embedded circuit design for specific products designated by the Director of Engineering.  The Electrical Engineer is a vital part of the design team responsible for the electrical design from inception to end of life.  This position reports to the Director of Engineering and is an essential part of the development process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical circuits for new products and systems.
  • Improve design of existing products resulting in increased quality, lower cost, higher performance, and ease of manufacture.
  • Responsible for all aspects of electrical design for designated products.
  • Develop and maintain low bit microcontroller embedded designs for designated products.
  • Assist in creating next generation products.
  • Identify improvements in designs, processes, and practices for designated products.
  • Achieve agency approval for electrical designs when applicable.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong electrical engineering including low bit microcontroller embedded circuit design.
  • Preferred experience with sensor applications.
  • Proficient with PC’s and utilization of electronic media including email, web, circuit analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Creative application of electric design exploring possibilities for new products.
  • Work well in intra-departmental development team atmosphere.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with good personnel skills
  • Self motivated engineer striving for successful product and system design.

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required. 
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Electrical Engineering.  Experience with low bit microcontroller embedded circuits and programming preferred.
  • Background in sensors and / or sensor systems preferred.
